BODYPRISONTEMPLE
BODYPRISONTEMPLE
In the deafening, hyper-accelerated metropolis of Mumbai, a mysterious acoustic endemic forces residents into sudden attacks of narcolepsy. Through shots of sleepers juxtaposed with frenetic urban timelapses, BODYPRISONTEMPLE is an experimental mockumentary that reinterprets the body's real-life fatigue as a biological rebellion. Inspired by the thought of Heraclitus, the short film is a disturbing, sensorial immersion in which sleep becomes the only escape from the collapse of the common world.
Set against the relentless machinery of Mumbai, captures the phenomenon of bodies sleeping amidst deafening urban chaos. This profound slumber is framed not as mere exhaustion, but as a horizontal desertion - a silent, existential strike against the unbearable frenzy of the modern world. As the city digests itself, these sleeping exiles retreating into an inner cosmos to escape the acoustic virus of capitalism. The documentary gaze gradually dissolves into a haunting hallucination, revealing a collective dreamscape shared by the collective unconscious. Ultimately, the film is a visceral audiovisual meditation on the physical form as both a prison and a temple, where sleep becomes the final act of sabotage.
